“I just want to express not only my gratitude but how wonderful of an experience I had with Ms. Symphoni as my doula. As a first time mother, pregnancy was already something I was so anxious about. I thought pregnancy would be a walk in the park and perhaps for some it is but that was not my experience. Very early on in my pregnancy I was deemed high risk and rapidly put on bedrest. During this time is when I was introduced to my doula. From the very first meeting she was so full of positive energy and was very knowledgeable.”
“We discussed a plan that would work for the things I needed and goals I wanted to attain throughout the pregnancy. With being high risk that meant that I’d be seeing two providers, getting injections, a cerclage procedure among so many other things. She was present for every appointment, and any time I felt defeated she was right there, simply a phone call away to bring my anxiety from a 10 to a 2. As a doula she did provide emotional, physical and safe space. She understood what I needed and how important it was for me to make it to 27 weeks, 34 weeks and full term. At 38 weeks I was able to deliver a healthy, beautiful baby girl with her right by my side and I owe it to her for giving me the strength to pull through. I would recommend her to any one interested in having a doula. Thanks to her I had not only a safe, but memorable and empowering pregnancy and birthing experience. She even keeps up with us until now. It takes a special kind of person to empathize with others during a time that is so Devine.”

“As a mother of two sons and growing up in a Caribbean household, a doula wasn’t something I was familiar with nor did I think I would need. I had my 1st son at home with the help of his dad, it was not planned! Everything was great. 7 years later when I finally decided to have another child, I had all kinds of health issues, one being preeclampsia. Every visit my pressure would be high and doctors would say I’m at risk for a stroke or a heart attack. One afternoon my doctor decided to send me to the hospital because he was scared he would have to choose who to save!”
“I remember being so fearful. Symphoni came to the hospital from about 9pm that night and decided to stay during this time. We didn’t know that God was using me to prepare her for a journey that would be so impactful to so many women! Throughout the night she helped me to use my bed pan and wipe me because I was restricted. Around 12am they decided to induce me and checked my cervix every 3 hours. During my intense contractions, Symphoni was there to hold my hand and help me breathe through the pain. She was there through every hurdle and very supportive during the birth of my son. She kept me calm and collected. I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.”
